NITEO Uganda was founded in 2008 with a vision to see Uganda thriving through the power of literacy. NITEO is a latin word which means “to thrive, to flourish, to shine bright” and we believe it is through the ability to read that bridges are built to bright and hopeful futures.

Reading Club at St Peter’s Primary School, Gulu
In this part, we will write about what makes your business unique and the value people get from using your products or services over competitors.A weekly reading club for select classes at St Peter’s Primary School The club is led by Gulu University student volunteers who belong to the volunteer club: Kite Gulu.
Read For My Baby Program, Bombo
A program for young mothers To further their reading, numeracy, and writing skills in a small group setting hosted by the Elohim Development Association in Bombo.

Happy Times takes in orphaned and abandoned children and cares for them until they are able to find a family or reunite them with family. Classes rotate through the library for reading time each week where students are able to experience the joy of reading!"

"Project Shelter Wakadogo is a nursery and primary school in northern Uganda. Wakadogo, meaning ‘for the little ones’ in Swahili, was founded in 2006 by a group of volunteers in the UK and Canada. At this time, northern Uganda was coming out of 23 years of civil war. The school opened in 2009 in a remote, rural village called Acoyo on the outskirts of Gulu town. This was the first school to provide quality education to the girls and boys living in this community."
